Bonghwangjae, a four-room hanok in Gongju's old town

In the middle of Gongju's old town: the Na Tae-ju Poetry Museum and Jemincheon Stream are 5–12 minutes on foot, and Gongsanseong Fortress and King Muryeong's tombs a little over 20.

The house

There are four rooms. The two-level anbang with a loft is the family room; the utbang and geonneonbang are snug, and the kkeutbang is a small room with its own strip of wooden veranda.

Every room has a bathroom; the wooden hall, kitchen and yard are shared. A simple breakfast is free, and the owner runs an old-town walking tour and a photographer's snapshot package.
