Kim Kyungwon’s invitational exhibition The Voyage of Cell 2026 runs through November 29 at Moon Art Grounds in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province. It shows finished works in Moon Gallery alongside a film of the making process in Silver Screen.
Lacquer work and process film
Kim extends the traditional lacquer techniques of metal craft into painting, installation and video. Her “cell” form begins with the idea of a biological cell and extends to the self and the sea.
Moon Gallery shows the finished works, while Silver Screen shows how their surfaces are made, presenting the same practice at two different speeds.
