Does ‘PLASTIC OTHER’ on Korean packaging mean ‘other trash’?

No. OTHER is a material category, not an instruction to throw the package into general waste. Korea Environment Corporation uses it for certain plastics that do not fit the named material labels, mixed plastics and materials containing PET-G, among other specified cases.

THINK MATERIAL, NOT TRASH BIN

PET, HDPE, LDPE, PP and PS name specific resin types. OTHER is the catch-all material category used when the packaging falls outside those listed types or combines specified materials.

THE WORD ALONE DOES NOT TELL YOU WHERE TO THROW IT

Check the rest of the package label and the disposal rules where you are staying. ‘OTHER’ describes what the packaging is made of; it is not, by itself, a general-waste command.
