Hangul, Taegeukgi and tiger motifs move into everyday Korean fashion

Ahead of Hangul Day, Korean visual motifs are moving beyond souvenir design into sneakers, streetwear and everyday clothing. Brands are recasting Hangul, the national flag and tiger imagery through contemporary sports and street aesthetics.

Hangul and Taegeukgi graphics enter streetwear

Reebok’s second collaboration with Busan-based Balansa includes 11 items spanning hoodies, track pieces and sneakers. The collection uses a large Hangul Balansa logo and a Taegeukgi-inspired side-box mark on the Club C 85 Vintage.

Korean motifs are becoming everyday design rather than only souvenirs

Industry sources say products using Hangul and tiger imagery are expanding across apparel and lifestyle goods, with interest also visible at stores frequented by foreign visitors. The notable shift is toward reinterpreting traditional symbols in current graphic language.
