“The Blue in You,” sung by Kim Hyun-chul and Lee So-ra, is the theme of a 1992 film. Two contrasting voices draw close and pull apart, holding the line between love and farewell in a blue-toned duet.
Two voices
Kim’s restrained tone and Lee’s darker, more resonant voice do not push the emotion the same way; they trade it. The exchange tightens as the refrain arrives, building tension without becoming a conventional power ballad.
From film to song
The song was written as the theme for director Lee Hyun-seung’s 1992 film The Blue in You. Lee wrote the lyrics and Kim composed the music. K&C MUSIC’s official YouTube metadata dates this recording to January 1, 1993.
A duet still played
The track has outlived its role as a soundtrack and is still programmed on radio. MBC FM4U included Kim Hyun-chul and Lee So-ra’s recording in its playlist on April 1, 2026.
