Digital-art studio d’strict released a 61-second official film on September 2, 2026, documenting Hello Fish, its work on a curved screen at COEX in Seoul. Small fish gather into a giant face, their bodies carrying greetings in many languages.
The creator
Founded in 2004, d’strict is a Korean digital-design and art company that combines media technology with content to create spatial experiences. Beyond the image itself, the screen’s position on a building, its shape and the viewer’s distance are part of the work.
In this film
Hello Fish gathers individual fish into a much larger form. Up close, greetings are visible on their bodies; from a distance, the face and flow of the school take over.
The display wraps around a building’s corner, giving the composition a depth a flat rectangle lacks.
Greetings in 60-plus languages
The studio says the work includes greetings in more than 60 languages. Viewers need not read them all: a familiar greeting and the movement of the fish come through first. The many scripts share one screen, and the piece registers even with passersby glancing at a city billboard.
Release and run
d’strict uploaded this official record on September 2, 2026. The installation ran at COEX KPOP Square in Seoul from July 1 to August 31, 2026, and has ended.
