A moon over the garden after dark

Suzuko Yamada's Hanging Moon is an 8 m dome that arches over the outdoor garden above the cafe. There is somewhere to sit beneath it, and at night a pool of light falls on the lawn. Yuichi Yokoyama's Plaza blows up parts of his best-known work to wrap the museum's outer wall, so the show starts before you reach the door.

A first for Hoam, built around emerging artists

Art Spectrum is the Leeum-Hoam series for emerging artists, and this is the first time Hoam hosts it. It is co-curated with the Palais de Tokyo in Paris under a very long one-line title. Music performances, an art shop project, food workshops and talks run alongside.

25,000 won, and book ahead for weekends

Admission is 25,000 won. Tickets are reserved on ticket.hoammuseum.org, and an Oct. 9 notice from the museum recommends booking ahead for weekend visits. Opening hours and closed days are not listed on the official page, so call 031-320-1801 before you go.
