Korean Asian Games delegation returns after finishing third overall

South Korea's Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games delegation returned on October 5 after finishing third overall with 39 gold, 43 silver and 68 bronze medals.

Final result after 16 days

South Korea sent 1,051 athletes and officials across 41 sports and won 150 medals. The delegation held third place behind China and Japan but finished one gold short of its target of at least 40.

What comes next

The 39 gold medals were Korea's lowest Asian Games gold tally since New Delhi 1982. After the closing and return ceremony, many athletes now move toward the National Sports Festival in Jeju starting October 16.
