Eolssu!: when a school stage opens into imagination
The official trailer for Eolssu!, an animation by YIM Sujin and KIM Yoobin, runs 31 seconds. It follows a boy’s stage fright at a school pansori performance into imagined scenes.
The story
YIM Sujin and KIM Yoobin’s 2026 film follows Eunsu as he prepares to sing pansori at his middle-school festival. The official synopsis says the boy draws on his teacher’s advice and his imagination to face his fear of the stage.
The trailer shows his fan and hanbok, then bird and landscape imagery that carry the setting beyond the school stage.
How pansori works
According to the National Institute of Korean History, pansori combines sung passages, spoken narration and gesture, with the drummer’s rhythm and calls of encouragement taking part in the performance. Audience responses are also part of it.
Scene changes
The trailer moves from Eunsu’s face and fan to a shifting background, crossing between a real stage and an imagined landscape. It is animation, not documentary footage of a traditional performance. The official technique credit is “2D Computer, AI.”
