The story

The film follows Fujino and Kyomoto, two girls connected through manga. The video is Megabox’s official main trailer.

A 1982 song on a 2026 stage

KBS Legend K-pop publishes the official Yoon Suil Band performance.

Why it stayed with Korean listeners

The song connects band-oriented rock sound with familiar Korean popular-song rhythm and remains a cross-generational standard.

What’s in it

Nongshim says it used its fresh-noodle technology to recreate the springy texture of tteokbokki. The sauce combines a fish-cake-broth tteokbokki base with creamy Shin Ramyun Toomba sauce, finished with cheddar and parmesan powder.

Launch and availability

The product was announced on September 21, with sequential sales planned from September 28. Nongshim’s official online shop listed a 252 g single pack on October 7.

A Seoul neighborhood becomes a song title

“Hyehwa-dong” appeared on Dongmulwon’s second album in 1988 and was written and composed by Kim Chang-gi. The place name opens into memories of friends and time.

Why it stayed with Korean listeners

The song turns a Seoul place name into a doorway to memories of old friends and neighborhood life. The original, later remakes and live stages have kept that route open for newer listeners.

How the tool works

A tteoksal is a mold or stamp used to press patterns onto rice cakes such as jeolpyeon. They were made in wood or ceramic, in round, rectangular and other shapes.

The carved lines and motifs transfer directly onto the cake’s surface.

Meaning in the motifs

Museum interpretation notes that floral, character and geometric motifs could express wishes as well as serve as decoration.

Whether the central motif on accession 신수15969 represents a specific symbol has not been confirmed.

A box for sewing tools

Making clothes took more than a needle and thread. Cloth had to be measured, cut, stitched and pressed, using rulers, scissors, thimbles and pressing irons. The banjitgori kept the smaller tools and pieces of fabric together.

In its entry on traditional Korean dressmaking, the Encyclopedia of Korean Culture lists sewing boxes alongside needle cases and thread holders as tools for organizing the work.

A compartment for needles and buttons

The National Museum of Korea’s Joseon-period sewing box, accession Sinsu 13353, has a small compartment in one inside corner. The museum identifies it as a place to keep needles and buttons separately from the larger area for thread and cloth.

The wooden box is 9.2 cm high and 36.5 cm on each side, finished in black lacquer and mother-of-pearl. Its shallow, open shape and divided interior make its function clear.

Paper and bamboo boxes

Not every banjitgori was elaborate lacquerware. They were also made from paper, wood and bamboo.

One paper-craft method built up thickness by pasting sheets together and was used for small containers, including sewing boxes. Leftover or used paper served as material, and colored paper could finish the surface.

Mother-of-pearl decoration

The opening photograph shows a different Joseon-period wooden box, Sinsu 13352. It is 9.7 cm high and 38.5 cm on each side, with mother-of-pearl on black and red lacquer.

Rocks, trees and fish sit within a circle on its inner base; flowers, birds, bamboo and rocks decorate the outside. Together, the two boxes show how the everyday work of sewing extended into storage and decorative craft.

Launch declared a success

The Korea AeroSpace Administration and KARI said initial telemetry analysis confirmed that Nuri reached its target altitude and completed its planned flight sequence normally. The five primary NEONSAT satellites and nine CubeSats separated successfully and entered their target orbits.

NEONSAT-2 to -6 make contact

Initial two-way contact with ground stations was completed by NEONSAT-6 at 1:08 p.m., No. 4 at 2:42 p.m., No. 3 at 3:27 p.m., No. 2 at 4:18 p.m. and No. 5 at 5:52 p.m.

All five returned identification and telemetry data and responded to ground commands. Their basic condition was generally healthy.

Eight of nine secondary payloads

As of the agency’s 6:45 p.m. release, eight of the nine secondary payload satellites had contacted ground stations, while DaejeonSat-1 was still attempting contact. The agency plans a combined update on the secondary payloads on October 13.

Before Kim Dong-ryul’s solo career, there were two musicians

Kim Dong-ryul and Seo Dong-wook won the grand prize at the 1993 MBC College Musicians Festival with “In a Dream,” then began their formal career as Exhibition. They released their first album in 1994 and three albums before the duo disbanded in 1997.

Why it stayed with Korean listeners

“Etude of Memory” is a 1994 song with lyrics, music and arrangement by Kim Dong-ryul. For listeners who first encountered Kim through his solo work, it remains a clear route back to the duo where that musical story began.

The two candidates

Nongshim says Edward Lee and its researchers developed Shin Ramyun Cheese & Doenjang and Shin Ramyun Seafood & Fish Cake. Online voting runs October 6–18 on Nongshim’s website and official Instagram account.

Tasting vote and launch

A tasting vote at the Shin Ramyun Bunsik pop-up in Seongsu is open to applicants. A separate outside consumer evaluation will also factor into the final choice.

Nongshim plans to launch the selected recipe in late November for limited sale through the first quarter of 2027. Neither candidate is on sale yet.
