Free Thursday-Night Workout on the Seoul Plaza Lawn, Until Oct. 29

Why NOW picked itGood for a Thursday when you don't want to go straight home. It's a free workout on the City Hall lawn at 7 p.m., and only one Seoul Plaza session is left, on Oct. 22.

Free, no gear, Thursday at 7 p.m., right in front of Seoul City Hall. 'Moving Seoul Plaza', the after-work workout on the lawn, has only a couple of sessions left this autumn.

The lawn in front of City Hall turns into a gym

The city runs this community-fitness programme in front of the permanent stage at Seoul Plaza every Thursday at 7 p.m. The autumn season runs from Sept. 1 to Oct. 29.

Thursday, Oct. 22 is at Seoul Plaza. The last session, on Oct. 29, moves to Ttukseom Hangang Park.

What you actually do

The main workout covers stretching, night diet dance, bodyweight exercise and barre, a mix of ballet and Pilates.

Next to it is an exercise clinic, where trainers, posture-correction specialists and physical therapists give one-on-one advice. A body-age challenge tests your flexibility and strength.

No money, no gear

It is free, and you need neither equipment nor workout experience. You can register in advance on the official website or sign up on the spot.

Cho Seong-ho, head of the city's Tourism and Sports Bureau, said the city will keep expanding everyday sports content so anyone can exercise without pressure on the way home.

Finale at Ttukseom

The last session on Oct. 29 is held on the plaza in front of exits 2 and 3 of Jayang Station at Ttukseom Hangang Park, so you can warm up with a night view of the Han River.

Before you go

Seoul Plaza is next to Seoul City Hall Station. The session runs from 7 to 8 p.m.

The schedule can change in rain, so check that it is running before you head out.
