JTBC's new weekend drama "Final Table" premiered at 10:40 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24. Ahn Hyo-seop plays the head chef of a near-bankrupt Italian restaurant who enters a survival contest to find the best Korean cook.
A chef from a failing restaurant walks into the contest
The stage is "The Table: K Chef 2026", where Korean chefs gathered from around the world compete to be named the best Korean cook.
Ahn plays Kang Han, a genius chef with a veiled past. He becomes head chef of the empty restaurant Familia and enters the contest. Hong Hwa-yeon plays Familia's owner, Choi Song-yi.
The third teaser opens on a burning house
The third teaser, posted on JTBC Drama's official channel on Oct. 8, opens with a house in flames and a child calling for his father. It hints at why Kang Han entered the contest and what happened in his past, but explains nothing.
Rival chef Cha Woo-jin then grabs Kang Han by the collar and says he will not leave him alone. Jang Ryul plays Cha. The teaser does not say how the two are connected.
Who made it and who is in it
Kim Do-hoon wrote and directed, and SLL, BA Entertainment and Yeonghwasa Dudu produced it. Jung Yu-jin plays Seon Jeong-won, the executive producer of the cooking show.
In an Ilgan Sports interview, Ahn said that meeting his co-stars for the first time he felt "these are people who really suit their characters".
Where to watch: Disney+ in Korea, Prime Video elsewhere
The drama airs on JTBC on Saturdays and Sundays. If you miss a broadcast, it streams on Disney+ in Korea and on Amazon Prime Video outside Korea.
