Why NOW picked itA good quiet afternoon for the weekend. It is free and open until 8 p.m. on weekdays, but Saturday and Sunday close at 6 p.m.
More than 100 works by sculptor Cho Sook-jin, who has worked in New York for nearly 40 years, fill the second floor of Seoul Museum of Art Nam-Seoul, and entry is free. The show runs until Nov. 15 and stays open until 8 p.m. on weekdays.
Forty years of one artist on one floor
'Cho Sook-jin: Where Passing Takes Place' surveys about 40 years of her work in over 100 pieces, from major works and new commissions to drawings never shown before and archival material. It is the second show in the museum's 'Korean Representative Sculptor' series.
She has been based in New York since 1988 and moves between sculpture, painting, installation, photography, performance, public projects and architecture.
From the prologue to the garden
The show is organised as a prologue, three parts and an epilogue, and it includes an outdoor garden. Skip the garden and you miss a stretch of the route, so walk out to it.
Seoul Museum of Art has posted an official video of the show on its YouTube channel, a good preview before you go.
