Seoul Autumn Festa Runs Until Nov. 29: 478 Performances From Daehangno Theatres to the Han River

Why NOW picked itIf you are heading to Daehangno for a show, stop by the information kiosk near Hyehwa exit 1 first. Prices and booking differ by performance, so pick a show, then check its booking page.

Seoul's autumn performing-arts season opened on Sept. 18 and runs for 73 days, through Nov. 29. Across 117 theatres and open-air stages such as Han River parks, 38 festivals and 478 performances sit under one banner.

478 shows under one name

This is the second edition, run by the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture. The first ran 40 days last year; this year it stretches to 73.

38 festivals and 558 detailed programmes are bundled together. Whichever theatre you walk into, a show tagged 'Seoul Autumn Festa' belongs to the same season.

Dance, opera, ballet and the river

The opening show, 'Seoul, Dance at Hangang', took place at Ttukseom Hangang Park, blending traditional and contemporary dance with electronic music, media art and circus.

The Seoul World Dance, Seoul Dance, Seoul Opera and Seoul Ballet festivals fill the calendar, alongside partner events such as the Seoul Philharmonic park concert and the Seonyudo Park festival in Yeongdeungpo.

Start at the Daehakro Center kiosk

If you do not know what to see, head to the first floor of the Daehakro Center, about 165 m from Hyehwa Station (Line 4, exit 1). A kiosk recommends performances by taste, and there are on-site activities.

It is closed on Mondays and public holidays; opening hours are not listed on the official page.

Subtitle glasses for foreign audiences, on trial

According to the plan reported at the press conference, subtitle glasses for foreign audiences will be trialled at performances at Daehakro Theater Quad. Check each show to see whether it is covered.

Times and admission differ show by show. There is no single festival ticket, so look up the booking page of the performance you want.
