Free Tongyeong Seafood Festival, Nov. 6–8: Oysters, Eel and Sea Squirt at Triathlon Plaza

Why NOW picked itGood if you want to wander and eat oysters, eel and sea squirt with no entry fee. It is in Donam-dong, away from central Tongyeong, so check the route first.

From Nov. 6 to 8, the Eobujangteo x Port Village Tongyeong festival takes over the Triathlon Plaza in Donam-dong, Tongyeong. It runs 10:00 to 21:00 every day and entry is free.

Oysters, eel, sea squirt and sea bream on the menu

The heart of the festival is the food-booth zone, with dishes built on Tongyeong staples: oysters, eel, sea squirt and sea bream.

Tongyeong City is the organiser, and all three days run 10:00 to 21:00. There is no entry fee, though food prices may differ from booth to booth.

The cooking is half the show

Performance booths put live cooking and plating in front of you, and at the chef-consulting booths well-known chefs develop new dishes from local seafood.

This year adds a pet-friendly zone and a kids' zone. It is the first edition teaming up with Busan's Port Village, so the booth line-up may differ from last year's.
