Why NOW picked itA safe first big Korean musical if you are not sure what to book. It is dark only on Mondays, Wed, Fri and Sat have matinees, and several December dates already show as sold out.
The story of Manderley opens again on Nov. 24 at the Grand Theater of Chungmu Arts Center in Jung-gu. The eighth Korean season runs to Mar. 14, 2027, with seats from 90,000 won (A) to 180,000 won (VIP) on NOL Ticket.
Dark only on Mondays
The show runs 170 minutes with a 20-minute intermission. Tuesday and Thursday start at 7:30 p.m.; Wednesday and Friday have 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. shows; Saturdays and holidays play at 2 and 7 p.m.; Sundays at 3 p.m.
Dec. 14 (a Monday) has a 7:30 p.m. show and Dec. 15 (a Tuesday) has none. Ages 8 and over; bring proof of birth date.
Three Maxims, three Mrs. Danvers
Maxim de Winter is played by Kim Woo-hyung, Tae and Min Woo-hyuk, who joins 'Rebecca' for the first time. Mrs. Danvers is Shin Young-suk, Ok Joo-hyun or Lee Ah-reum-sol.
The heroine, 'I', is Lee Bom-sori, Lee Ji-soo or Yoo Yeon-jeong. Shin has appeared in every Korean season since 2013. Casting can change by date, so check before you book.
Prices and the refund rules
VIP is 180,000 won, R 150,000, S 120,000 and A 90,000, with some dates priced differently. The Dec. 11, 26, 27 and 29 shows already show as sold out.
Cancel within 7 days of booking for a refund minus the booking fee. As the show nears, fees run 10-30% of the ticket price, and missing it because of parking or traffic is not refundable.
A Vienna original from 2006
Michael Kunze wrote the book and lyrics and Sylvester Levay the music, from Daphne du Maurier's novel. It premiered in Vienna in 2006 and has played 15 countries in 12 languages.
The Korean premiere came in 2013; across seven seasons it has passed 1 million in total audiences, EMK Musical Company's first million-seller. That premiere won five awards at The Musical Awards.
Sindang exit 9 is the closest subway exit
Chungmu Arts Center lists Line 6 Sindang Station exit 9 at about 50 m and Line 2 Sindang exit 1 at about 150 m. Dongdaemun History & Culture Park exit 2 is about 300 m. All are within a 10-minute walk.
The lot has 187 spaces and is often full, so the centre itself suggests transit. Parking for a performance is 5,000 won for 4 hours, card only.
