Why NOW picked itA good sunset plan in Dongdaemun for the end of the day or a weekend. Fridays bring live music, Saturdays singing bowls, and at 50,000 won with Korean and English guidance it works for mixed groups too.
Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) is running a 90-minute sunset walk across its roof every Friday and Saturday until Nov. 21. Fridays add live music, Saturdays add a singing-bowl session, and it costs 50,000 won a head.
Fridays: busking on the roof
Friday is a busking set timed to the sunset. Flutist Lee Seul-gi plays on Oct. 30 and Nov. 6, singer-songwriter Moon Sang-hee on Nov. 13 and Qurim on Nov. 20.
The set is also streamed to the big screen in Eoullim Square, so you can catch the mood from the ground without a ticket.
Saturdays: slow down at dusk
Saturday swaps the band for a singing-bowl meditation, with guided breathing and listening. Instructor Jeong Yu-seon leads Nov. 7, 14 and 21.
The 652 m route gives you a 360-degree view over Dongdaemun.

50,000 won, 15 people, Korean and English at once
Each session takes 15 people at 50,000 won each; the regular rooftop tour is 26,000 won.
Guidance runs in Korean and English at the same time, so a mixed group does not need a separate interpreter.
Booking: DDP website first, walk-up if seats are left
Reserve on the DDP website; leftover seats open on site 20 minutes before each tour. You must be 18 to 70 and carry photo ID. Meet at the DDP Lounge.
The closest exit is Exit 1 of Dongdaemun History & Culture Park Station, and there is paid parking on site. Programmes can change with weather, so call 02-2153-0310 if in doubt.
